Seeking new experiences, he ventured to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he honed his skills as a mason for a year. Despite the allure of city life, his heart remained in Colorado. He returned to Monte Vista and opened Chief Liquor with his father. This business endeavor, located 15 miles from his hometown, thrived for five years before they decided to sell.

    Transition to Construction and Home Improvement

    With a solid entrepreneurial background, Rory was ready for his next challenge. He launched Masterpiece Home Improvement and Crown Construction, dedicating the next two decades to building and remodeling custom homes. His construction approach is mainly self-taught, marked by meticulous attention to detail and a passion for creating stunning living spaces. His reputation grew as he constructed some of the most exquisite homes in the San Luis Valley and the Durango/Arboles areas, earning considerable acclaim for his work.

He also manages two rental homes on the property, showcasing his versatility and commitment to his family’s legacy.

After his father’s passing in 2013, his mother retired, splitting her time between Monte Vista and Durango. he enjoys a close relationship with his two sisters and their families. His love for the outdoors is reflected in his hobbies, which include riding dirt bikes, boating, and camping.
